Pipefitters

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to install a 36-inch water main or what it's like to run a pipeline across the United States? The pipefitter/steamfitters of the United Association are the backbone of today's infrastructure. From the heating and cooling systems in your office to the refrigeration systems in your local stadium, it's the United Association's manpower that has led the way. Here are a some of the areas that you will receive your training in if you choose to become a Pipefitter in the United Association:

  • Heating and Cooling Systems in a variety of complex areas
  • Schematic, technical and isometric drawing and layouts of basic refrigeration
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Welding, soldering and brazing
  • Specialized welding certifications such as MIG, TIG, and Orbital/Computer Welding
  • The code training required to receive a journeyman mechanical license
  • Low and high pressure steam boiler systems
  • UHP-Ultra High Purity, used in the hi-tech industries
  • The latest industry standards including safety and health in the workplace
  • Medical Gas installer certification
  • Green Friendly Systems
