The students who achieved this UA 21 welding certification are: Jacob Powers, Victor Perez, David Skaggs, Michael Sawyer and Ryan Ohagan.

The UA Veterans in Piping Program provides free job skills training to select transitioning military service members who are transitioning from military service back into the civilian workforce. These VIP’s will use the skills they have learned in the service and put them to use in a lifelong career with the UA.

The VIP program is an accelerated 18-week program where students will learn in the classroom as well as perform hands-on training to prepare them for their five-year UA apprenticeship.

Upon completion of the VIP Program, students move on to a five-year apprenticeship with a UA contractor that will provide the apprentice with a stable income and on the job training throughout their apprenticeship.

The purpose of the UA VIP Program is to decrease the amount of transitioning military service members who become unemployed military veterans, while fulfilling the shortage of skilled craftsperson’s in the pipe trades. This will relieve stress from military members as they won’t have to worry about finding a job and providing for their family as that is done for them through this program.
