Fort Campbell Fire Suppression Class 17 graduates from UA VIP program

Fort Campbell

The United Association Veterans in Piping (UA VIP) program proudly recognizes the graduation of Fort Campbell Fire Suppression Class 17.

Over 118 days, this group of transitioning service members completed a rigorous curriculum, marking a significant milestone in their journey from military service to skilled civilian careers.

Once UA VIP graduates transition out of the military, they are guaranteed direct entry into a DOL-registered UA apprenticeship program at an agreed-upon location.

Class 17 students graduated with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to design, install and maintain modern fire protection systems.

UA VIP journeyman instructors Curtis Amos and Kyle Shrum taught Class 17 students the fundamentals of fire suppression through a blend of classroom instruction, laboratory exercises and real-world simulations.

During their time in the program, students also had the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications that they will take with them after they transition out of the military.

Some students will graduate with certificates in steel pipe threading and grooving, rigging and signaling, copper joining and more.

These certifications will help the VIP graduates stand out from other apprentices on future jobsites.
