11 Graduates honored after completing Fort Campbell United Association Veterans in Piping Program Welding Class 7

The United Association Veterans in Piping Program is proud to announce the graduation of its Fort Campbell Welding Class 7.  On Aug. 3, 11 active-duty members of Fort Campbell successfully completed the free career-training program that teaches transitioning military members basic welding skills to begin a successful career in the pipe trades.

Thanks to the UA VIP Program, these transitioning service members will not face the stress of searching for a job that most military members experience upon their discharge. The Fort Campbell Welding Class 7 graduates are guaranteed a job with a UA contractor, which gives them an opportunity to earn a livable wage.

As Sergeant William Kindermann was preparing to leave the service, he found himself thinking more and more about his future.

It’s natural to have some apprehension about the unknown, but one aspect of Kindermann’s future life was already certain: The start of a new and rewarding civilian career thanks to the free welding training he received through the United Association’s Veterans in Piping Program.

Upon leaving the military, Kindermann will have a job waiting for him as an apprentice welder with a UA contractor.

Fort Campbell UA VIP Instructor honored

Fort Campbell recently honored the UA VIP Program and its instructors.

Michael Smith, on behalf of his entire Fort Campbell VIP training staff, accepted an award from the Installation Management Command at Fort Campbell.

The Fort Campbell United Association Veterans in Piping Program teaches transitioning soldiers the basics of welding, which will prepare them for a welding career in the UA.

20 members graduate from Fort Campbell VIP Program Welding Class 6

The UA VIP Program is proud to announce all 20 members of its sixth Fort Campbell Welding Class graduated in mid-March.

The class, comprised of members of the Army, is now prepared to begin the next phase of their life as they transition out of the armed forces.

The class members – 19 males and one female – underwent an intensive 18-week training course to introduce them to welding and prepare them for an United Association apprenticeship.

Fort Campbell UA VIP Training Instructor Michael Smith called the work ethic displayed by this class as top-notch.

UA VIP Helps Michael Cruz get into Dream Career

Growing up, Michael Cruz had always wanted to be a welder. In fact, prior to joining the service, he went to school for welding.

When he learned the VIP Program at Fort Campbell could place him in his dream career, Cruz jumped at the chance to apply to the free job-training program.

When he graduates from the program, Cruz will be able to transition directly into the United Association’s apprenticeship program with guaranteed employment.

VIP has helped him ease the stress and burden of transitioning out of the military.

Fort Campbell Holds graduation for Fifth UA VIP Class

Nineteen Soldiers graduated from the United Association Veterans in Piping Program’s 5th welding class at Fort Campbell.

The United Association Veterans in Piping Program equips military service members preparing to leave the service with sought after skills that can lead to lifelong careers in the increasingly in-demand pipe trades. Through 18-week accelerated courses - provided free of cost on military bases across the country - VIP participants earn industry-recognized certifications and direct entry into solid private-sector jobs with good pay and benefits.
